Barbados

It's one the quintessentially British winter hideaways - Barbados is a hugely popular destination, with its fantastic range of hotels and villas, fabulous restaurants all over the island, glorious weather and the tremendous Caribbean welcome.

The English love Barbados - the official language is English, it has a British based legal system and they drive on the left! The West Coast of Barbados is probably the most popular stretch on the island as it's protected from the Atlantic. Hotels are all of an excellent standard, none better than the sister hotels of the Coral Reef Club and the Sandpiper. Both managed by the O'Hara family, the hotels exude such a friendly atmosphere we were overwhelmed with how relaxed we felt literally within hours of arrival.

The cottages and rooms at the Coral Reef Club are nestled in beautifully landscaped gardens which add to the tranquillity of the place. Luxury cottages even have their own private plunge pool - a welcome addition in the hot Caribbean sunshine.

Coral Reef Club

"A classy and superbly run family hotel with excellent food and facilities - the staff were very professional and couldn't do enough to help - oh - and there was plenty of rum!"

Steve Thomas, Managing Director, MT Kaill Ltd.

When it comes to cuisine, those fond of fresh seafood will find delicious delicacies on every menu - flying fish, red snapper, dolphin fish, swordfish, tuna, lobster and shrimp, all of which are harvested in the clear waters around Barbados. Dining out in Barbados is easy - there are so many good restaurants to choose from you don't need to have an All Inclusive meal plan from your hotel.

Our favourites include the Lone Star, which we're told is a favourite of Bob Monkhouse, Angry Annies, the gorgeously romantic Cliff restaurant and the Fish Pot in the north of the island.

Naturally, fresh fruit juices and coconut water are ubiquitous and sold on many street corners. However, rum is undoubtedly the king of the island, and used to create a huge variety of cocktails and punches in the island's bars and restaurants.

Call Concierge Travel Service now to book your holiday to this fantastic Caribbean island.

We can help you choose the right hotel for you and your family, and add those important extras such as restaurants reservations or how about a round of golf at Sandy Lane?
